What AutoYard Lab is

AutoYard Lab is an independent comparison site for wire-free robotic lawn mowers and, in time, other smart outdoor robots. We exist because this category is genuinely hard to shop. The specifications that decide whether a mower works in your yard - rated area, rated slope, navigation technology - are buried below marketing copy, published inconsistently, and often left out of retailer listings entirely.

Our job is to pull those figures into one place, in the same units, with the date we checked them, so you can compare models on the numbers that matter.

What we are not

We are not a store. We hold no stock, take no payments and process no orders. We do not set prices, ship anything, or handle warranties and returns - the manufacturer does all of that directly with you.

We are also not a test lab. We do not have a test lawn and we do not run controlled mowing trials. Anyone claiming to have field-tested every model in this category at length is very probably overstating things. Our How We Review page sets out exactly what our analysis is based on, and what it therefore cannot tell you.

How we pay for it

Affiliate commission. When someone buys after following one of our links, the manufacturer may pay us a percentage of the sale. It costs the buyer nothing extra and it does not change the price they pay. That arrangement applies equally to every model we list, including the ones we advise against, and placement on our pages is not for sale. The full terms are on our Affiliate Disclosure page.

Where we focus

The United States, in US English, with prices in US dollars. Availability, warranty terms and support quality vary enormously by country in this category, and we would rather cover one market accurately than several vaguely.

Corrections

If a figure on this site is wrong or out of date, we want to know. Send the correction and the official source it comes from through our contact page and we will fix it and update the last-checked date.

Where we operate from

AutoYard Lab is run from Argentina and written for readers in the United States. We say this plainly because it affects you: we are not a US retailer, we hold no US inventory, and we cannot intervene in a US warranty claim. What we do is read the same official documentation you could read yourself, and put it in one comparable place.
